A student's view: MUIV at the International Forum "Ecology"

19 June 2025
On June 5–6, Moscow hosted the 16th International Forum “Ecology,” one of the country’s key discussion platforms on sustainable development, environmental protection, and the introduction of green technologies.

Moscow University named after S.Yu. Witte was represented at the forum by Lyubov Rastorgueva, a second-year student and chairperson of the Student Scientific Society. She took part in the business program and prepared a video diary on behalf of MUIV, immersing herself in the forum’s atmosphere and recording key events in a reportage format.

The work on the video was supervised by Aliya Filicheva, head of the MUIV Media Center and author and host of digital media projects for Russian Railways TV. Together, they collected materials from plenary sessions, interviewed experts, including the well-known eco-activist and director of the Kronotsky Nature Reserve Petr Igorevich Shpilenok, and conveyed the spirit of one of the main environmental events of the year.

The topics discussed included:
— climate challenges and the transition to a low-carbon economy;
— digitalization in the field of environmental protection;
— the role of education and youth initiatives in the environmental agenda.

Students' participation in large-scale forums is not only a step towards professional growth, but also a contribution to the formation of responsible environmental thinking. MUIV continues to create opportunities for its students to be not just witnesses, but active participants in important changes.
