Consortium and Sustainability Club Meeting Held at the Federal Research Center of Informatics and Control, RAS
On March 27, 2025, the Federal Research Center “Informatics and Control” of the Russian Academy of Sciences hosted a meeting of the “Sustainable Development” Consortium and a session of the Moscow Sustainable Development Club.
During the Consortium meeting, participants discussed key priorities and work directions. Opening remarks were delivered by V.M. Zakharov (IBR RAS and MUIV) and V.M. Tumin (Moscow Polytechnic). The discussion involved representatives from academia, RAS institutions, and the business sector.
A major point of focus was the importance of basic environmental and sustainability education. The participants proposed developing a comprehensive foundational course involving a wide range of experts, adaptable to the level and profile of various educational and public institutions.
The Sustainability Club session was themed “Sustainable Development: Ecology and Culture. The Role of Cultural Institutions.” Opening statements were presented by V.M. Zakharov (IBR RAS and MUIV) and A.A. Retyum (VOOP).
Representatives from parks, museums, libraries, universities, and scientific institutions took part in the discussion. The participants emphasized the growing relevance of the topic and the pivotal role of cultural institutions in shaping values and fostering a culture of sustainability.
The session concluded with a proposal to continue developing this area and to support initiatives focused on promoting sustainable development through culture.
