The project "Values of sustainable development in the mission of the Northern University"
The Institute of Economics and Management of Syktyvkar State University named after P. Sorokin is implementing the Project "Values of sustainable Development in the mission of the Northern University". The project is being implemented and funded by a grant received as a result of the competition "Universities and Sustainable Development Goals" organized by the Witte Moscow University.
The aim of the Project is to find new approaches to the organization of educational, scientific and administrative activities of the university in order to promote the values and goals of sustainable development. The project consists of a scientific and educational part, they are largely interconnected.
The first stage of the project, which the executors have now started, defines a specific assessment of the university's role and participation in the implementation of the SDGs at the moment. According to the preliminary results of this stage, April 18, 2024 A round table was held at the Institute of Economics and Management, at which the master's students participating in the project reported to the experts and their supervisors the first results of their desk research on published regulatory documents of Syktyvkar University, research topics assigned to the institutes of the university, and keywords of publications. The research of the masters included an assessment of the University's Strategy until 2028 as a whole, the integration of a group of environmental SDGs, social SDGs, and economic SDGs – entrepreneurship education into the university's activities. The experts positively assessed the results reported by the undergraduates and jointly outlined further work on the Project. The next planned event of the Project is the holding of the "School of a Young Scientist" on May 23, 2024 with the participation of at least 50 people.
