The results of the interuniversity student research competition "Pro bono: affordable legal assistance"
In April, the Faculty of Law hosted the Interuniversity competition of student scientific papers "Pro bono: affordable legal assistance", organized in accordance with the order of the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work No. 9 dated 04/05/2023.
The competition was organized by the law clinics of the Witte Moscow University and Tver State University.
The competition was timed to coincide with the International Day of Struggle for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and was held in order to reveal the scientific potential of students, develop their interest in scientific and research activities, develop critical thinking and creativity skills, realize the social significance of their chosen profession and involve the younger generation of lawyers in the field of free legal assistance to the least protected segments of the population, including persons with disabilities.
The application for participation in the competition was submitted by educational organizations from different regions of Russia:

- branch of the CHOUVO "S.Y.Witte Moscow University", Ryazan;
- Tver State University, Tver;
- Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution "Higher School of Economics", Moscow;
- RANEPA under the President of the Russian Federation, Moscow;
- Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Education "Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation", Moscow;
- Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin, Tambov;
- Ural State Law University named after V.F. Yakovlev, Yekaterinburg;
- CHOU VO "Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov (IEUP)", Kazan;
- Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University, Veliky Novgorod;
- Orenburg Institute (branch) of the Moscow State Law University named after O.E.Kutafin (MGUA), Orenburg;
- GBPOU Nizhny Novgorod Provincial College, Nizhny Novgorod.
The acceptance of competitive works was carried out from 05 to 30 April 2023. The received papers were devoted to the most pressing issues of providing free legal assistance to persons with disabilities. The organizing committee that evaluated the competitive works included experts from various branches of law, including the faculty of MUIV and TvSU, as well as the Head of the basic Department of the Faculty of Law of MUIV "LLC "Law Firm "Melnik", General Director of "LLC "Law Firm "Melnik" Kharitonov A.S.
The prizes were taken by the authors of the following works:
- 1st place - A.I. Ekkerman with a paper on the topic "The importance of clinical education in the training of a lawyer" (TvSU);
- 2nd place - Idrisov I.E., Lavrova I.G., Mutyanov D.Yu. with a paper on the topic "Features of providing free legal assistance to people with disabilities on labor law issues" (RANEPA);
- 3rd place - Prager A.N. with a paper on the topic "The right of combat invalids and their family members to receive free legal assistance during the special military operation of Russia in Ukraine" (MUIV).
The winners of the competition were awarded diplomas of I, II and III degrees, as well as certificates for active participation.
