Grant from the S.Y. Witte Moscow University
7 June 2024
Work continues on the implementation of a grant from the Witte Moscow University for fundamental and applied scientific research, the implementation of publishing and educational projects aimed at achieving sustainable development goals. The aim of the project is to develop and create an interactive flipbook, an electronic textbook "Sustainable Tomorrow: a guide to climate change, mitigation, adaptation strategies" with its open posting on the Internet for the wide dissemination of sustainable development ideas and stimulating the creation of sectoral, regional, social and educational technologies to reduce risks and achieve set goals.
The textbook being created will be the basis for a deeper dive into the issues raised and of interest, it is addressed to a very wide range of readers of different specialties with different levels of training, so that they can choose their section and its parts as the main ones with different depths of study and use the rest of the material as additional. The overall goal is for representatives of different professions to generally act in concert to address the major challenges of adaptation and mitigation of climate change.
Currently, work has been completed on identifying the group of users for whom the flipbook will be developed; existing materials and resources on climate change and adaptation have been studied; a concept and structure have been developed (chapters, sections, and subsections have been identified, and a visual concept is being selected), as well as work on creating text and video content. There is still a lot of difficult but very interesting work ahead and we are confident that we will complete this project on time, because the development of the flipbook will effectively transfer knowledge about climate change, its consequences and adaptation strategies to a wide audience, the project will help raise public awareness of climate change issues, promoting a more informed approach to sustainable development, and highlighting specific adaptation and mitigation strategies can inspire readers to take action in their daily lives, work, and community activities.
